Historic Deerfield

Has anyone been to Historic Deerfield before? It seems like an alternative to Williamsburg, as far as being a small 18th century town with period lodgings and taverns. There is an interesting textile exhibit this year and it seems like a fun idea for a costume weekend with like-minded folks.
