Disaster Averted
We had a period of high stress for a couple of weeks, that seems to have been brought to an end yesterday. My husband's company told him they were interested in moving him to the Montreal, Canada office. O.o
I was in a near panic - doing tons of research and trying not to let the cat out of the bag until it was real news. But they were very clear that it needed to be the right move for us as a family, as well as for the company, so when they heard all of J's arguments for staying (his professional ones, kid in school, my pending surgery, plus we love it here!) they decided to promote him into the corporate offices here instead. Giant sigh of relief. Although I feel like it is only buying us time and it will come up again in six months. I'm ok with it if it is a temporary (several years) move, that brings us back to Paris. I hear Montreal is beautiful and a wonderful city, plus I'd love to live on the eastern seaboard at least a while. It sure beats some of the alternatives. But we do love living here and would be sad to go. Home sweet home. <3
