I actually HAVE been working on that list

but slowly. Settling into the house continues, the projects multiply every week or so. Some things I added:

I tore out some turf around/under the locust tree in our front yard and ringed it instead with a number of flowers and shrubs that should grow right to the edge of the sidewalk: dark red mums, a dark red coreopsis (flowers kind of look like mums, but the foliage and blooms are more delicate, a lavender plant, a silver spires Russian sage, and some purpley-black stonecrop.

I tore out the skeleton of whatever died long ago in our front flowerbed and added a woodland-y shade garden: a pair of dark-leaved, rose-bloomed astilbes, a spiney-leafed variety of bear's breeches, a "midnight" bugbane (leaves and flower spikes like the astilbe, but a gorgeous deep purpley-black), two japanese anemones, a pair of "galadriel" fuschias (cue: inner nerd giggling with glee at the name!), and a deep red heuchera (aka coral bells)

we redid the pond: removed stones, re-lined, set up the fountain, ran it again, added water plants and goldfish

and now I'm painting the bathroom. Cabinetry = this will take a while. Well, it already HAS taken a while - I put in about 9-10 hours yesterday with only one break for a meal, and a 1-2 min sit down to drink my morning coffee after I'd been at it a few hours. SEriously, whew. I hope to be done with all but the insides of the drawers (which I think I will finish gradually, as several of the drawers themselves need to be glued and clamped and sealed up first).

Other than that:

I fell short on reading. Read the EGC. Working on the Proust. I also started up with ACT again as a script reader, so actually my first goal is to get through four of this month's six mandatory (my personal goal is eight) scripts. I still want to hit the Woolf this summer, but I may not do Morash. I found a novel by Sebastian Barry, a playwright whom I quite like, at a used book store and bought it. So I kinda want to read that soon.

paint:
Jenny Gordy's portrait = done (see it on pacific rain if you like)
Still slogging through the landscape. SO many tiny details. I walked away a while ago, then I got sick. I think the time off has been good. Painting the bathroom makes me not want to paint for a while. But maybe I'll try to put some time in tomorrow. It's actually nearing completion; it would be nice to finish and actually have time for that final canvas I'd like to do this summer.

Sewing:
here's where I feel productive.

curtains for bedroom done
curtains for kitchen done
gorgeous choker swap choker made

one of my yuletide gifts made.

working on my couch cushion covers now ... I decided to do this really involved reverse applique technique, so they are taking for.EV.er.

Still thinking about that skirt. And hair pin. And brooch. And quilting pieces. And another painting. And covering the Poang chair. And more gifts to make. And books to read...

oh, and did I mention I have guests coming? har. We'll see how far I get.
