Have been oddly poorly the last couple of days, and, through a combo of starvation and vomiting, have lost eleven pounds since the weekend. I feel like death warmed over and this has probably not been helped by my inability to sleep. Instead, I have been staying up to three or four in the morning, watching early episodes of Smallville, because Michael Rosenbaum as Lex will never ever stop being insanely hot.
I am working on the next chapter of the spies-fic, and really hope to have it in a state for posting tomorrow. Sorry for the delay.
I don't often do recs because a) I once got caught up in a little wankstorm about it and I like to avoid wank where possible, and b) I feel terribly guilty for not reccing absolutely everything I like. But, in the absence of me having anything to post, I would like to point you towards several things I have read recently that have caused me glee.
The J2 Basketball AU by ze_pink_lady. This is a wip and I'm linking to part one. This is also one of those pieces that was absolutely instrumental in getting me past my rps squick. It's stupidly stupidly hot, angsty, and just awesomely good fun. Jared is a pro-basketball player and Jensen is a hooker, but there's so much more going on. I squee every time there's an update.
Send Me a Postcard, Drop Me a Line by janissa11. This is SamandDean apocalypse-fic but it's wildly original and the dialogue is spot on.
A quiet evening at home by essenceofmeanin. This is SamandDean genfic set during season 3. It's like being punched in the gut and you don't even realise it's happening until you reach the end and everything hurts.
where the sunsets are all breathtaking by wanttobeatree. This is a serial wip with eventual wincest, and I have no idea where it's going but it's written by this alarming woman that I love so it will be good.
Desperate times by hemrage. This is a J2 AU wip, which is a pretty bleak and dystopian future-fic about mpreg. Oh come on, if you like mpreg and you like J2, then I really think you might like this. See, the thing about mpreg, is it's really really fascinating to me when it's done properly. Like it is here.
The affection is the entertainment by lazy_daze. It's J2 date-fic and it turns my insides to marshmallows. Yes, it's hot, we all expect that from lazy_daze, but it's also ridiculously lovely.
sin and bone by oxoniensis. This is underage!Sam/Dean and it's beautiful and elegant (as signe's writing always is) and it hurts so good.
Captured by the game by rivkat. This is a Sam/Dean AU wip and I've only read the one part so far but it's absolutely intriguing. This is not the Sam that we know and love. This is something much more ambiguous.
Custard by thehighwaywoman. Scrubs!J2. Perfect feelgood fic. If you're not reading this, why not?
In pari delicto by dreamlittleyo. This is a short piece of Sam/Dean, which is hot and all, but the undercurrents of something deeply unsettling are what really makes me rec this piece.
