So, if Bela is already in Hell and presumably Ruby's been sent back there, I now want Dean, Bela and Ruby teaming up to break out of Hell. Once someone gets those nasty meat hooks out of the boy. Oooh and Gordon could well be down there too, he can be in the escape party too!
Can you all bear with me if I natter about Bela just a little because I didn't do an episode response last time and I'm still thinking about it. I liked Bela very much. I liked that she'd made a deal even though I thought sexual abuse as a backstory was a bit pathetic. Women can have tragedies in their past that aren't sex-related, you know. Still, it makes her little jibe at Dean in Red Sky at Morning about his relationship with John seems more interesting now!
DEAN
Hey, Bela, how'd you get like this, huh? What, did daddy not give you enough hugs or something?
BELA
I don't know. Your daddy give you enough?
Back to No Rest for the Wicked, I have to be honest, I think Bobby had it easier at the end of last season. At least Dean only wanted to destroy himself. Sam is much more likely to destroy anything and everything. Though I'm glad to see a return of Antichrist!Sam, even if Sam surviving the Killing Curse was a little too Harry Potter for me to take seriously.
I think Katie Cassidy did a pretty good job, especially as Lilith, and she has been growing on me of late. I still wouldn't miss her if she doesn't return next season and I still prefer Bela, but I'm in the happy state of being quite fond of all the regulars now.
Lilith wasn't all that scary. Creepy little kids are a tad overdone but I do like that demonic playtime is murder and cake. Sign me up for some of that.
Liked the singing - especially when we realise Dean's simply trying to distract Sam from the fact he's still totally freaked out.
And I'm in the weird state of mind of wanting to write something about the episode, even just a coda, but not being able to gather my thoughts enough to do it. I think I need to find a soothing image and work from that because Hell!Dean is too much angst. I hesitate to add this, but I have to be honest, Dean with blood in his mouth and all smudged with dirt? Kind of hot.
