most likely because i have so much on my mind.
so i'm resorting to an old standby....music and random typing.
so enjoy, and in case you wanna guess, i've provided some clues....
"this speech is my recital
i think its very vital..."
(writing for my fiction writing class has been alot harder than i thought it would be. i have plenty to say, but the thing is we read it in class and the class is 3 hours long so i'm not gonna get away with not reading my story out loud...so you can imagine the pressure to sound insightful, funny, and whatnot is pretty intense. i want people to get me and like what i write but i don't want to be made fun of or looked at weird. its tricky to write something everyone will like.)
"cause you might get runover or you might get shot"
(ok i love it here but i cannot help but think every time i walk out that door i take my life in my hands. yesterday someone threw themselves in front of the brown line EL and two weeks ago my friend max watched a guy get hit by a car outside of our building. also Miriam was so special as to plant this lovely idea in my head. homeless crack addicts with AIDs walking the streets looking to stab someone with a needle they just used,to infect the innocent passerby with their disease...yeah. i know. thanks Miriam... i've got much love for this city, but as of right now for a little while at least, paranoia is what i got...)
"even all the bad songs ain't so bad"
(most of my cds consist of really bad songs...i can admit that. not all, but for the most part. top 40 from the late 90s and whatnot. but so what. i like it and anyway, i'm making up for it now. i've been coveting peoples music or requested multiple burnings.but i'm pretty sure that even then in moments like this when i'm totally undisturbed i'd much rather choose the corny 'bad' music. but i don't know. someone would have to give me the best mix tape ever to get me to change my mind.)
"we got everything we need in here and everything we need is enough"
(my cafeteria is amazing..seriously i cannot express to you how much i love the wrap and sub sections. its open every day. and entire section of freshly made wraps and subs and pitas and everything sandwhich related. its fantastic. pizza all through lunch till 12am. and breakfast? o wow. omlette guy cooking things up every morning, fruit, bagels, waffles and they will even put bananas in your pancakes..)
ya know i think i am something of a pancake purist. i like chocolate and some berries and the occasional bananas...but i would never think about putting anything but some sparse powdered sugar on my pancakes...
pancakes, griddlecakes, flapjacks, whatever you wanna call them...they are classic and deserve to be treated with respect, not tainted with all sorts of flavorings that aren't of the syrup-y persuasion. butter and syrup, thats what belongs on a johnnycake.
i mean, i am in no way pooting on those who taint there cakes but me...i would never think of adding blueberries to my gandy. i'm not in so much of a rush that i can't sit down and slice a nice banana to go with my brown bucks.
(i totally exhausted thesaurus.com on that one)
great now i'm hungry. and i thought it was almost 9 but its not its almost 8. damn different time zone thing.
when i was little i used to think that people in a different time zone were living a few hours or even a day in the past. i used to believe that if something newsworthy happened to us those on other coasts wouldn't here about it until it was the same time there. does that make any sense to you at all. anyway its what i believed for a very long time and to be honest i prefer that way of thinking alot better. it makes it more exciting, dontcha think?
