The worst part of physiotherapy is perhaps the constant refrain of 'ur doin it rong'. So my quad strengthening exercises haven't been engaging my quads, and my core strengthening exercises, while done perfectly according to the old rules, no longer apply to the new, where you do not in fact flatten the back or tuck the tum. You tighten ( Read more... )

That physio sounds very tough indeed - admiration to you for sticking with it, and good wishes to you for four months hence.

Vegetarian Yorkshire pudding recipe! Thank you very much. :)

'Tough', says the woman engaged in the fine retraining of muscles known as classical ballet. There speaks the horse's mouth for sure.

You're welcome. Hadn't occurred to me it was vegetarian even if not vegan.

It'll be totally worth it! I find that kind of physio entertaining on the 'I didn't even know there was a muscle there, that's cool!' level. I'll have to try your pudding recipe, it sounds exactly like the kind of thing that would go over well in this house.

It irks me the way brain teasers irk me: there's a solution but I can't see / feel it. So half the time I'm concentrating on my knee and she says 'Not yet- not quite' and the other half she says 'Yes! There it is!' and both times feel exactly the same!

Having googled a bit on the pudding, I discover they'e called Dutch babies which is oh dear. I knew the bit about having the milk and eggs at room temp from my mother's Yorkshire, but today tried the bit of 'mix everything smooth and let stand 15-20 minutes to let the flour absorb the liquid.' I think my first try, with lumpier batter, worked better. Also tried the cheese variant today which was... OK, I guess, but needs something stronger than Swiss.
