January thaw

Melt, hence bicycle. Hence got to the drugstore that sells grippers to buy a new pair against Monday's threatened freezing rain, and to the super for more road salt ditto. Also made it to the Korean pharmacy that has lambswool knee warmers in its window. Have not measured knees to see if their L would fit, and the question is moot because the things cost $65 plus tax. Should see if any of my small stash is actually wool-wool and crochet my own, or just wait to see if Thursday's cortisone shot does the trick instead.

Also dumped remaining bag of salt in front of Indian Gardener's house, and several hours later removed the sidewalk iceberg which was, oddly, black. (Is why I suspect runoff from his garden.) The wet will freeze again tonight, alas, and snow on yard melting tomorrow will also turn to ice, but one does what one can. Elmtree's dad who lives five doors up hadn't even noticed iceberg's existence: what it is to be young and surefooted.
