My sister came by yesterday to drop off some books and my brother came by today to pick up mail and good lord we're a trio of cripples. My sister has rolled her ankle, twice, and the rest of her body is taking exception to everything being out of balance. Left side all seized up so that she walks like me on a bad day. Bro has almost as much trouble as I do, getting out of chairs and going down stairs, but his doctor says it's too early for knee replacements. Then s-i-l came bopping in after visiting her up the street grandson, bringing me tulips and raspberries as a possible apology for calling me a privileged snowflake the last time I saw her, and has no difficulty with stairs or kneeling or getting up off the floor. What it is not to be a Johnson: no arthritis or flat feet or scoliosis or soft teeth or myopia.
OTOH I was again able to come down the stairs step step step, which I've only been able to do once or twice in the last four months and not for three years before that. This is mood lifting. On the other other hand, I still need a handrail to use my operated knee properly; the basement stairs lack one and I can't trust my 'good' knee to take my weight on them. Has to be the twingy right one still.
And I'm having my once a decade (I hope) sinus thing which leads to light-headedness. Not vertigo, just an uncomfortable lack of equilibrium. Last time was twelve years ago and it went on for a month and only went away with antibiotics. I'm hoping saline rinse will work on it this time because getting to my doctor's is still a very expensive trip.
