I have seen my people.
I went to the Flaming Lips show in Calgary. We got there so early we were front row. It was amazing. It was a fabulous time. The crowd was superb. We made friends in line. I waved at Wayne Coyne and he waved back. They finished the set with "Do you Realize?" and strangers were all hugging and dancing and people were crying and there was confetti....it was rad.
I think if I had infinite money I'd just follow the Flaming Lips around on all their tours. Owen and I were talking about our trip to Coachella in line and about four people starting yelling "You went to coachella???? Was it AMAZING?!!!" Yeah....most people here don't know what Coachella even is because they're all country fans. Lips fans are just my flavour of indie nerds. How do I locate these people in regular life?
That's a photo from the Edmonton show. But the calgary one was extra kickass, because it was NOT at the Edmonton Event Center. I really hate that venue. But I feel like steve's photo captured the essence, at least.
