So. I have been in my apartment for two weeks!!!!
I have discovered many things:
1. Moving sucks, and I hate it! I plan to live in this apartment out of spite until we decide to get a house just to avoid having to try and get this couch out of the balcony window, because it does not fit through the door.
2. Paul Simon's Graceland is the most calming album of all time. I loved it when I was really young, my dad used to have a tape he'd play in the car. Owen has it on vinyl, and I listen to it all the time before bed.
3. The shower head in this place is the worst. It's like trying to wash my hair while someone spits on it, ineffectively and kind of coldly. There's no warm setting. It's cold or scalding. Sigh.
4. My guinea pigs are here and while I am still allergic to them and wish someone wanted them, they aren't as noisy now that they get natural light and a regular supply of baby carrots, which I cram in their faces to keep them happy. They hate the vacuum, actually, I hate that vacuum too. It sounds like a car backfiring. I need a new vacuum.
5. A guy I went to elementary and junior high with and that Owen was good friends with until they lost touch a year or so ago lives across the street. That's pretty cool, actually. He's moving soon unfortunately, but Owen was pretty happy to see him again.
6. We can have anything we want for food. This is mostly turning out to be eggs, toast, cereal, sandwiches and corn on the cob. We're lazy, even though he's a chef, we're still lazy.
7. I love swiffers. Dry swiffers, wet swiffers. Who invented these wonderful things? I owe them big.
8. We have a nice TV, so we just watch the Planet Earth box set on Blu-Ray late at night. Oh David Attenborough, you are so British. This clearly makes us super cool. You're all jealous.
9. Ikea is excellent! I love it there. I bought a 74 cent stuffed elephant. And a couch and stuff, but an ELEPHANT.....my priorities are screwed up.
10. Our laundry machines are highway robbery. I may just start to buy super cheap bulk socks and throw them out because it might be cheaper than washing them.
11. .....I already miss my mom. Yeah, yeah, I'm a whiner. I miss my brother too.
