I finally heard Sirius growl for real today.
My brave little dog is adorable, of course. He and pickles play all the time, during which he emits a whiney sort of sound as his growl. Basically it's a growl without the throat "grrrr" action. I didn't think he knew how to growl, but he does afterall.
I came inside and set down my bags and logged on. Sirius stood at the window, his gazed fixed on something, the whole time. Then he began to growl Really growl. He still has a happy expression, and his lips aren't snarly or anything, but it's the most 'ferocious' he's ever been outside of a few play antics. I went to investigate this culprit, as Sirius doesn't often sit at the window for so long (he'll watch squirrels if they're on the tree, but mostly he just looks out the windows and pretends he sees something so that he can bark and make pickles very excited, which leads to playing).
So I approached the window and looked out..... and saw a plastic bag caught in a bush. Admittedly, at first glance I thought it was a kneeling child in a puffy winter coat and it took me a moment to decipher what it was. Definitely a plastic bag though. Sirius is transfixed by it. He's still sitting there growling, and I've been typing for 8 minutes.
