Snowflake Challenge Catch-up: Recs and Wishlist!
So others on my flist have been doing the snowflake_challenge, and I've just been lurking for the last couple of days, but now it's sucked me in. It's such a GREAT idea for a challenge: something easy and low-stress and full of love to start the new year with.
[Recs for 1 fanvid, 3 fanfics, and a Fannish Wishlist under the spoiler cut!]Day was to post some self-recs, which makes me nervous, so I think I'll just quickly say Things We Did Wrong, which is just a quiet moment between Gwen and Elyan after Lancelot's (first) death in season 4. It's also got cider-drinking! Yay!
Day 2's challenge was to rec other people's works, especially rarepairs and lesser known stuff, and oh, and have I got stuff for you guys. LADIES FTW!

I kinda lost my shit a bit while watching this vid. Trigger warnings for violence against women (all footage is from Merlin, but it's the way it's cut).
I don't cry easily at fanworks, but this one hit me where it hurts: all of the women on Merlin. AAaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. The music is PERFECT, and the cuts are lovely, and it was rather like having someone sticking their finger in a wound an twisting ut oh well. TWIST IT HARDER, SOPHIE.
Havoc on the Throne by anonymous - Merlin/Mithian - PG-13
A tight and lovely fic from merlin_holidays, with a beautiful bit where Mithian and Elena are friends, and both of them are wonderfully in character but still BFFs despite being so different. The Merlin/Mithian is really deepl canonical, actually, and even if you're a hardcore M/A shipper, you should read this, because it doesn't conflict with any other ships, it just sort of floats down over canon like a cozy blanket made of ladies, AND YOU SHOULD READ IT NAO. <3
Oh, and I have recently made friends IRL wit ladyofthelog, who writes all kinds of fun fic (currently in Teen Wolf and SGA fandoms). Go check out her series of fics where Derek is completely inexperienced but too shy to say anything to Stiles, OR her recent big bang where Stiles is a Drag Queen and totally best friends with Lydia, YAY. (I have heard from reliable sources that this one might have a sequel!)
Day 3was to interact with someone you haven't before, and I've been meaning to reach out to sophinisba or a while, since I think all her fanworks are awesome, but I've only been admiring them from a far. So I did that. :)
Day 4 (today!) is to create a fannish wishlist.
1. a banner fo teenwolfbetas, cuz I'm not really good that stuffs. :)
2. Ficlets or fic recs for
- Merlin/Freya, the angstier the better
- Post 5x13 with Merlin interacting with Gwen or Hunith
- Merlin/Gwen with M/A or A/G in the background
- Merlin/Gwen/Arthur, the angstier the better
