I recently finished the game Xenoblade Chronicles, a JRPG for the Wii, and I really really liked it. Not just the characters, but also the story. It's a story which begins in a little village and turns into something really big. I didn't expect it that it would turn out into something with such a dimension (I don't want to reveal everything) but I can say so much, the ones you thought are bad are actually the 'good' ones :D that's something that really suprised me.
The characters are also really great. Each one is unique and plays an important role in the whole story and each of them sufferfs different from the incident which happened in the little village and which incidents happened following this one.
The most thing I liked about the game is the whole world. It's just big and big and big and you can travel to each area when you just want to go there (and I would really do it, because there are always new things to explore, after you did a little bit from the story). The world is really beautiful and each area is unique and different from the other one, so you won't get bored, that each map looks the same.
The only thing difficult to understand was the battle system. There are so much informations relating to the battle systems, so much you can do, to support your teammates and so on. It took me some time to get used to it, but afterwards it also made fun to just run into some enemies and to fight.
What I also have to critisize are the sidequests. I like sidequests and the most of them were really good, but there were too much sidequests. They could have left the little ones away (beating some asses up from some monster or searching for items). It would be better to leave those little ones away and to offer more sidequests which are bigger and need more time. There were too less from this sort of sidequests.
Well, but all in all it was a really good game, the best I've played so far.
And here is a little trailer:
