Things can look up if you let them...

As the weather turns colder and the leaves start falling, I find myself wanting to cry. I don't like snow. I don't like cold. Why do I even live here? I also do not enjoy the school year nearly as much as I enjoy the summer. Therefore, in order to survive, I must look on the brightside. Here are some upcoming events that I can look forward to.

1) Forest Fest weekend. Because I just LOVE watching the royal princesses and such waltz so gracefully down the hill. And if you believe that you are crap. I kind of enjoy watching them ride through the parade in the rain, but that's not even my idea of real fun. So why am I looking forward to Forest Fest this year? BecauseI have choice between two Bushes. I will either be protesting George Bush or I will be at Busch Gardens. It's looking like the king idiot may actually show up in Elkins, so we've GOT to get a good protest planned. Taylor, I do not like your idea. It's got to be something better. Keep thinking.

2) Michael Moore is going to be a guest speaker at Fairmont State. I will be going if at all possible. I'll take off work if I must because that's a-ok when you're a substitute teacher.

3) Election day. I may or may not be looking forward to that. If Bush pulls a plumped-up-from-eating-expensive-White-House-food Bin Laden out of his bedroom on November 1 and cheers "See! I got him!", I will be super pissed. Either way, we're having an election bash and watching Fahrenheit 911. You're welcome to come. If Kerry ends up winning, we'll have another bash that weekend, and I'll even buy the beer.

4) My new exercise plan. By November, I ought to be in great shape. I've decided to seriously spruce up my dancing. Highland dance can be really nice if you help it out a bit. Right now my shake-shake-changes look like a dog shaking it's leg after peeing. I've got to work on that, among other things. Anyway, I've decided to practice as often as possible in my big woolen dance socks and stiff foot squeezing ghillies that kill my wide feet. When I've danced about 45 minutes like that, I reward myself. I let myself do a dance barefoot. You know that weird feeling you get when you step off a treadmill after using if for a half hour? It's kind of like that. A real Highland high.

5) Snow days.

6) The Nova Scotia cruise that Matt and I are planning for summer. Yeah, it's far off, but I'm sure looking forward to it.

Did I forget anything? Did I leave out your sister's piano recital? The party you're having next weekend while your parents are away? Leave it in the comments section.
