Originally uploaded by Neil H. Eve organized a whale-watching trip this Sunday, which was pretty awesome. Alas, Chris wasn't able to go as she's prone to seasickness. I mocked Eve and Brian for having pale skin and needing sunscreen on the boat, which caught up to me the next day when my face ended up turning somewhat red.
We saw a total of 14 blue whales, 9 of which we were able to approach. It's apparently been the "Best blue whale season ever" for them. The whale watch boat company is Harbor Breeze in Long Beach, which I highly recommend: http://www.2seewhales.com/
