On dancing
So, tomorrow's ballroom competition should be fun, but I have a suspicion that I might want to make it both my first and last competition. It's becoming increasingly clear that I enjoy social dancing much more than competitive dancing. When I'm dancing, I'm happier if my goal is to make whoever I'm dancing with happy, rather than if my goal is to make judges happy.
In any case, tomorrow will be a very long day... I'm waking up at 6:30am, arriving at the comp at 7:30am, and then I'll be caught up in the flurry of the competition until it ends at around 11pm. Besides the actual matches I'm competing in, I'll be helping with set-up and tear-down, as well as doing videography. I'm quite excited to see how things will go, and I'm also pretty excited about dancing in front of the crowd.
