I also forgot to mention a huge accomplishment for last week...
For the past half-year or so that I've been living in the new apartment with my ubercool flatmate denorae, I haven't had a bed. Instead, I spent just about every night in a sleeping bag on the floor of my room. Me being me, I never quite got around to getting a "real" bed, despite the fact that there's a discount furniture store literally on the same block as my apartment. I walk by it regularly, but, uh, never quite got around to going inside.
Last week I finally took the long hundred-foot trek to the store and purchased a bed. It really is much nicer than sleeping on the floor -- I'm a total idiot for not getting one earlier.
In any case, the following discussion I had with the salesman amused me:
::Neil proceeds to buy a twin-sized bed::
::furniture salesman starts filling out form, finishing about half of it::
Neil: Wait! Wait! Sorry about changing my mind, but I've been thinking about that full-size mattress again.
:: Neil and salesman discuss the price for a bit, and it turns out the full-size bed is just $50 more::
Neil: Hm... that is tempting. Although my room is kind of small, the twin-sized bed might be a little too small.
Salesman: Do you have a wife or a girlfriend?
Neil: No, but that's a very good point. I think I'll get the full-size bed.
