I've decided to move back to the UK in order to do something at University and get my name on a bit of paper. As much fun as it is just bumbling around Japan on wings of fate, I think that doing something proper like that is probably a good idea for me. I've gotten a lot out of the past 3 years, and I have no regrets about being here and doing the things I've done here. It's been a proper adventure so far, and I think that once I finish university properly, I'll come back here as a proper 社会人 and continue life as I want to :)

Anyway, I'm going to be back in the UK on the 12th, and going up north the same day, so within a week or so of that I plan on going around and visiting people down south and up north. If anyone is free around and abouts that time and wants a visit then just drop me a line here ;)

Oh, I bought a new laptop :( My old one is for all intents and purposes completely broken and requires stupid stuff done to it every time I want to use it for more than 5 seconds. I got a Sony Viao TZ series laptop. It is basically the nicest computer I have ever owned, and I love it to bits. It has a FeLiCa reader built into it, as well as a 1seg tuner. Not much use outside of Japan, but when I come here I can use them :) (Though I can use the FeLiCa reader for online shopping from Japan when I am in the UK)

I'm working sporadically until the end of Febuary, at which point I will finish my job and I'll be leaving this current house on the 2nd or 3rd of march, at which point I'm thinking about taking my suitcase to my friends house, leaving it there and doing a weeks tour of Japan before flying back on the 12th. I'm going to miss Tokyo, but at least I won't have anything making me want to immediately come back like I did last time, and the fact that I've got things I want to do in the UK will mean that any reverse culture shock and little annoyances won't get me down. Besides, I kinda miss cheap rent, sunday roasts, seeing all you guys and the ability to go to Europe for 20 quid :p

The only thing that is going to annoy me is the lack of Japanese language stuff, as I have really been getting into studying Kanji lately, and having Kanji signs all over Tokyo has really helped my learning, but I guess I can substitute downloaded TV shows and manga etc for that.

とにかく, I'm quite looking forward to coming back the UK :)
