Got any fire types? They can cut off a few days of travel in there if you melt the ice.

Not with me. Though I do have one with a fire attack... he just doesn't like the cold that much.

Man, that's gotta be a pain. Still, if you can get him to cooperate, a fire attack might help.

Winter in Johto's pretty harsh. Last year the snow stuck around for a few months.

It was fine at first, but I think I'd take summer heat over blizzards.

It's good that Johto has a change in seasons, but months of snow and freezing blizzards? Yeah, definitely not interested. [He's from Osaka. Not much snow there in general.]

It's pretty easy to get by if you've got a water or ice type. Fire types do help with the cold weather, but it's safe to get hit by water. Flames? ...not so much.

That. I was partly hit by a flamethrower once. Not pleasant.

I bet. Getting hit by attacks is always a pain, but fire and electric moves are the worst.
