Orientation : 3 hours = $21.45
Movies day 1 : 3 hours = $21.45
Movies day 2 : 3 hours = $21.45
Day 1 : 3 hours = $21.45
TOTAL (so far): 12 hours = $85.50
Only one day of official work and I'm already at $85.50 (before taxes). Not too bad.
The movies were training movies. After every few scenes there were quizzes on what you just watched. Not hard, but so boring that I wanted to scratch my eyes out. I literally banged my head against the way for 3 hours straight. Day 1 was today : 7:00 - 10:00 PM. A girl from my 4th grade class trained me on the register and cleaning the lobby. It was ridiculous. The register at my restaurant is seriously the most confusing thing ever. If somebody orders anything with chicken (select strips, nuggets, wraps, etc.) there's about 50 different buttons and their all under things that make no since. I felt bad. My trainer left at 9:00 PM, so I had to struggle the rest of the time. It was ridiculous. I had to keep interrupting everyone else to clean up whatever mistake I made. And customers are really horrible! Most of them were either really rude or some old creepy guys who felt like hitting on me. It sucked. I can only apologize so many times.
Order a burger and I can take care of it. Chicken and wraps - not so much. Hopefully I'll get better at it, but tonight sucked. I felt so bad after I'd have to interrupt people to ask for help that I seriously felt like crying. You could tell that the managers were getting annoyed. But my sister started today too (right before me) and she had as much trouble as I did - so it wasn't just me. I really hope that they let me stay on register before shoving me to drive-thru so I can get a hang of things. I guess that they thought about starting my sister on drive-thru. The good thing about register is that people can see how much you're struggling, so most of them don't complain as much.
Focus on the money, I guess, cause I'm sure as hell not working there because I enjoy it.
