Oh God, how he hates him. Hates that little bastard with everything in him. Mello can't breathe for all the raw /emotion/ clogging his throat and yeah, that's only salt in the wound. L. L and that little fucking cotton ball Near. It's an insult to his intelligence, let alone everything he believes in. Did they THINK he wouldn't find out, wouldn't connect the dots onetwothree until the big picture was shown clear as day?
Of course not. They are men and boys genius; on a level above Mello's own lowly status.
He is second, no matter how hard he tries. Forever.
He is stuck bearing witness to the glances, the 'accidental' touches, the meeting of dead eyes. He cannot unsee them, now that he knows. He will be tortured by what he sees. Forever.
He is angry and bitter and ever the cynic (too jealous to put words to, even now, when he sees, glimpses, pale spiders hands tangling in white curls instead of blond strands) Forever.
In the end he is a tormented wraith, stuck watching. Forever.
