The Sudden Appearance of Hope by Claire North

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This was the set book for Bibliogoth a couple of months ago. It took me some effort to get past the first chapter or so (maybe because I was expecting a sci-fi story which this definitely is not) but eventually got into the world of the story and ended up liking it quite a bit. I finished it some time (and quite a few books) ago so my memory of it is fading somewhat, can't remember that much about the main character.. oh, wait. The premise of the book is interesting, the woman who people quickly forget -out of sight, out of memory- and the inevitable lifestyle choices this brings. I liked it although many of the characters were rather cardboard plot devices and some of the plot itself stretched my suspension of disbelief rather thin. I enjoyed reading it, nonetheless.
