The weekend was slow and relaxing, and I got my GCA business done, only to find today that our Games Editor has resigned. Probably sour grapes over losing the race for Treasurer by a 41-7 total. I've asked my old chess tutor (leaving for Georgetown Law School next month, but still available) if he's interested in the spot, so now I just need to get it cleared by the Editor. We might still get some games analyzed from the Emory Castle Grand Prix in time for printing at the end of the month. :)
Trivia tonight went well. We finally got elemess in as a host, and he was audible throughout, except when one of the teammates talked over a crucial piece of information (was it World War I or II?). We got the Stayin' Alive question right, thanks to Julie, and we got the Super Bowl MVP question right thanks to me. We also learned that "Pope on top" is not the correct answer to a particular question about sexual positions. I hope elemess can avoid any future scheduling conflicts with Twains. And I hope we can take first again, like we did tonight.
Tomorrow, I get to roll out of bed and walk to the polling place before going to work. If they still give me an hour off for voting, I might get home before the PM rush for the first time in ages.
The crew that did the first 95% of my flooring work has not called me back about completing the last 5%. It wasn't their fault that our sales rep caused us to under-order, but it's got to be worthwhile to pick up an extra $300 or so, doesn't it? I'm starting to get annoyed, partially at myself for misplacing their business card after calling them 10 days ago. Arrgh.
And now, before bed, I'm going to go back eighteen months or so and figure out how I posted that Ryan photo . . .
