Annie (1982)
A while back I recorded Annie, and we finally watched it tonight, after doing the show. It was very interesting to compare the movie with the stage version.
Added: 'Dumb Dog,' 'Sandy,' 'Let's Go To The Movies,' 'We Got Annie,' and 'Sign'
Dropped: 'N.Y.C.,' 'Something Was Missing,' "Hooverville,' 'You Won't Be An Orphan For Long,' 'Annie,' and 'A New Deal For Christmas'
Though, 'We Got Annie' (which was supposedly in an early draft of the stage version) included many melody elements from 'Annie.' Many of the funniest lines from the stage version didn't make it into the movie, like 'some were from the Bronx,' 'what did Harpo Marx want' and 'take him off the Al Capone case.'
Carol Burnett made an excellent Miss Hannigan. Bernadette Peters was Lily!
