Appearance: Yoruichi is a fit, dark skinned woman with long, dark purple hair, bright golden eyes and a very direct looking face. She has a tall, lean figure and a graceful way of moving, although she can also sprawl about in a very lazy and undignified manner. When she isn't goofing off, she usually carries herself in a way that seems very self-confident and self-assured. She normally wears her hair tied back so that it is out of the way, and she favors very practical clothes that are easy for her to move in. She generally wears covering clothing, but she has no more shame about her body than an animal does. She wears soft, flat shoes which are ideal for quick, precise movements and athletics. She does not have a very feminine presence, but she does not act or dress like a man either. Her figure is very distinctly female, but her posture is almost searingly straightforward, as if gender is simply something that she does not have time to think about at all.
She also has a non-human form, that of a black, yellow-eyed cat which looks like a regular house cat, although she is still capable of human speech in this form.
Personality: Yoruichi comes off as being carefree and forthright. While it's apparent she's got some underlying iron, she doesn't appear to take things too seriously, and has a big grin when she smiles. She speaks casually and may joke or tease, sometimes in ways that are rather inappropriate. She is not easily embarrassed.
Although her default mode is to appear relaxed, Yoruichi can also be serious or somber when the situation requires. When she is serious she seems quiet, and a little withdrawn although still alert to her surroundings. When there is trouble, she seems very collected, and although she may show her worry, she also comes across as someone who is very capable. When she wishes, she can have a very regal bearing.
Yoruichi is intelligent, circumspect and cautious when taking action. She is no shrinking violet, but does not like to gamble unless she is confident of the odds. Yourichi does not need any social filters passing between her and her actions. Everything about her seems to come directly inside herself. Anything that does not bring her closer to achieving her goals is simply discarded. She will not give an inch to anyone, unless she is doing so to accomplish what she wants.
Abilities/Weapons: Yoruichi is a demi-human, and thus very strong and fast. She is an expert martial artist. While she knows how to use a sword, and has some magical ability, she prefers to fight barehanded, using a combination of speed, brute strength and sneaky tricks. Unlike some martial artists, all training for her is means to an end- like an assassin she only cares about completing her task. She has no desire to fight people 'honorably', she only wants to win. For this reason she has no difficulty deciding to flee that she may fight again another day. She is a crafty strategist and very level headed, capable of making split second decisions.
She also has the ability to turn into a cat, which is ideal for escaping and hiding. She can travel around and spy while in this form.
How well can your character hack?: Very hard, thanks to Black Ops training.
Weaknesses: She is unable to magically transform her clothes. She knows how to get her clothes off in order to transform quickly, but the problem is more on the other end, when she wishes to transform back into a human she must do so naked. She's not embarrassed about this at all, but it does limit what she can do with her transformations without attracting unwanted attention to herself. So when she is trying to be sneaky, she usually has to stay as a cat, unless she can easily steal clothes every time she wants to be human again. But unless you're sneaking around an abandoned department store, this isn't too likely.
Personality wise, sometimes Yoruichi suffers from keeping people too distant from her, and distancing herself from their feelings for her. Perhaps it is not so much a lack of awareness, as it can be a lack of acknowledging of them. By ignoring them, she can let emotional situations blow up that didn't otherwise need to. Yoruichi is not a person that likes to get too close to people, even if she spends every day with them and otherwise trusts them with her life.
History: Yoruichi grew up as part of an important, wealthy Solarian family. For generations the family had been headed by males, but as the last and only descendant of her generation, Yoruichi became the first female head of the family. As such, she followed the family tradition of enlisting in the Ivonian military. Having been trained privately from an early age in the art of combat, Yoruichi did well for herself. Between her skill and family connections she rose quickly through the ranks and became a Captain. She was also simultaneously involved in another part of the military, a special black ops branch. This is where she learned many of her hand to hand techniques.
The future looked bright for Yoruichi, but unfortunately her military career did not last. Someone inside the military began a series of secret experiments, using other members of the military as subjects. These individuals were subjected to a process called 'hollowification', a process which was supposed to grant them great combat powers, but which instead seemed to turn them into monsters. No sooner had this been discovered, than the subjects were immediately ordered to be destroyed, and the incident covered up. Yoruichi had a choice, to either attempt to gather evidence towards the prosecution of the the one she felt guilty, or to try to save the subjects, some of whom were her friends. Yoruichi acted to save her friends, managing to whisk them away before anyone else could kill them, using magic to mask their whereabouts as they escaped. It was then up to them to try to master the dark power that had been inflicted on them. Fortunately, they survived and banded together to form a group called the Vizards. Although she maintained some ties to them, Yoruichi was not part of their group. As soon as she was satisfied that they were safe and not a danger to others, she left them and struck out on her own. She spent her time hiding from the military and secretly gathering information. She feels she knows who is responsible, and she doesn't think he has finished what he's started.

Third Person (roleplay): Yoruichi dropped to the rooftop, crouching to be near the seated figure. Even after so many years it sometimes still felt strange to move so suddenly between bodies. She had spent a long time in the fall, roaming Boston as a cat. Even now, a full five minutes after she had put her clothes on she still felt a slightly funny hitch when she landed, as the impact was absorbed by oppositely pointed joints.
She would still drink a saucer of milk if it were offered, though. She didn't speak to her companion right away, just looked out with him over the hill tops at the setting sun. The colors seemed so brilliantly washed with her human eyes.
First Person (journal): Nothing much to record. Food here is okay, at least there is plenty of it. No suspicious activity. Box only contained porno mags. Run of the mill ones, too. Had an unfortunate hairball incident today. Good thing I was in my quarters. Must remember not to lick self before transformation no matter how tempting!!! .
