Just found out that two (count 'em, two) girls that were at school with me have recently got engaged (to men, not to each other). One's getting married this August in Canada, the other in December in Kenya. Both are less than a year older than I am.
Have been at home most of the day revising for History (my two most difficult History modules are next week and yes, I am panicking). After lunch, I got so bored that I decided to go to school for five minutes just to drop off a History essay for marking. Am now back at home, sprawled out on my bed and trying to convince myself to do some work. Instead, am currently compiling playlists on iTunes and simultaneously blissfully listening to the rain.
My current favourite "chill out" playlist is a mix of stuff I've loved for years - "Snow" reminds me of Year 11 - and songs I've only discovered very recently. It is a work in progress, but here is what it is so far (ew, please ignore my awful grammar):
Beautiful World - Coldplay
Details in the Fabric - Jason Mraz feat. James Morrison
Pure Morning - Placebo
Speeding Cars - Imogen Heap (I don't care if most people find her cheesy, I LOVE most of her music. "Speeding Cars" makes me think of my Year 12 Biology Trip, during which my room mate played this song on repeat.)
Mad World - Adam Lambert (I don't know how anyone could NOT love this song in general, but particularly Adam's version)
Chasing the Sun - The Calling
Burning Up - Eagle Eye Cherry
Snow (Hey Oh) - Red Hot Chilli Peppers (This makes me think of Year 11 and jacuzzis and barbeques and chilled out Sunday afternoons)
Galileo - Indigo Girls
Flying High - Jem
And now I have a Maths lesson with my tutor. Who in their right mind does Maths lessons at NIGHT (well it is 6-8pm, I could deem that a night lesson, right?)
