So, I've been listening to a lot of metal today. Maybe that's because I feel like badass because I....got my green belt! Now, I just need to make sure I learn the combos and forms before I go home so I can practice them over break and come back ready to go. I want to have my blue belt by the end of the school year.
I'm making a point of listening to stuff that I have in iTunes that I haven't gotten around to listening to or haven't listened to in a long time. Conclusions: AFI sounds a lot better when you're 15. At the Gates - Slaughter of the Soul, at least - sounds even more badass. Lamb of God is an underrated band and an overrated band at the same time. Overall, good jams.
Got my sources for my Intel paper all straight - now I just need to..you know...write the paper. Hoping to wipe most of that out by the end of tomorrow. That'll give me a day and a half of non-home time to work on Politics and Policy paper, the 15-20 page beast that it is. That paper has no business being that long, but I digress.
Team of Rivals is still incredible. Today's chapter was all about the buildup to the Republican nominating convention. Of note was how Lincoln managed to get the convention in Chicago (considering the three other main candidates were from OH, MO, and NY, respectively) by campaigning under the radar. It also helped that Chase spent the whole time at his house writing letters and Bates did the same thing, just without the letter-writing part. But, Seward takes the cake by...vacationing in Europe for 8 months right before the election. I love Lincoln, but if he had ran against any folks more competent than that, well...this country would've been gipped out of a really cool monument. It's such a good book so far.
Looking forward to seeing certain people over break.
Also apparently according to How Stuff Works...it's ridiculously easy to be a squatter and crazy hard to get a squatter removed from a property you own. Stupid danged squatters.
Time to learn some more stuff I should know and then go to sleep.
