So, I just sent my music project to my professor, thus leaving me with three (possible 2) finals and two papers separating me from home. Turned in my Research Methods paper yesterday, but not without pulling an all nighter. This was followed with sleeping from 5-12, then from 3-10. 14 hours of sleep. It was glorious. Whoever says it's better to just go back to your regular sleep schedule and that your body can't "catch up" on sleep is usually right, but absolutely wrong in this place. I was still exhausted after seven hours of sleep.
Anyway, I had to cancel my date tonight. Pretty bummed about that. I'm sick. Goddamnit.
Also cancelled was my phone interview with the DSCC. Gonna do that on Monday now. I feel like I'm been giving both the DSCC and the DGA far more professionalism than I do most things and I feel like that's going to pay off. I'd like to intern at either one and I don't foresee a situation where both of them reject me. Here's to that not being wishful thinking. They'd both be really good launching pads for any kind of campaign job, I think, so it'd definitely be a positive move for me.
Feel like makin love. (Dun dun ccccccchhhhh)
The 6th season of the West Wing is shaping up to be better than anything since the 3rd, maybe the 2nd. Unfortunately, I know that Santos ends up being president, but that, of course, is not the fun part of watching tv or movies or reading books. The fun part is finding out how and what happens from point a to b.
Getting Casino tonight...might watch it tonight, too, since I'm quarantining myself and all. Get some studying done, ya know...Friday night stuff.
I want to have a party tomorrow night, but I really do feel awful, so we'll see if anything materializes out of that.
Team of Rivals is still very good. Chap 3 was about how Bates, Seward, Chase, and Lincoln all get introduced to politics and began to work themselves into the political community. Apparently, Lincoln was a single term rep because he criticized the Mexican War...funny how some things barely change. Chap 4 was pretty short, but outlined their reaction and positions in regards to slavery...Lincoln's reluctant defiance, Chase's biblical outrage, and Seward's outspoken liberalism. Bates is definitely the least interesting of the four. Also interesting is how male relationships are described in the book, very emotional and strong, something seen in a less favorable light today, obviously. Basically, where I'm at in the book right now, Seward and Chase are Senators, Lincoln just got the boot from the H.R. and Bates is spending all his time with family. Looking forward to reading more. Highly recommended so far.
Anyway...
