So uh. Haven't properly been on lj in ages. Aside from participating in
videogame_lims and a little peeking in at
poupee_girl, and friending some awesome people from gaia, I haven't done anything with lj.
I've been sucked back into gaia hardcore, more than I ever was in the past thanks to
goldie,
cakemix,
folklorefaerie and all the other awesome people at Smoke & Mirrors who have managed to bring my post count up from 2.12 to 6.15 forum posts a day average in about a month and a half.
And speaking of
cakemix, I am stealing this meme from her:
1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 4 sentences on your LJ along with these instructions.
5. Don't you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest.
6. Tag five people. Do it if you feel like it.
Leroy's eyes narrowed. "Oh yeah. Is that it? That the way you guys want to play it?"

Wow, those were disappointingly short sentences. But it's a seriously good book.
Since I've been so long away from lj, I am going to use this entry as my starting marker for where to start reading the flist from again.
As far as real life stuff goes, Datastat still isn't giving me any hours and I'm still waiting on my first paycheck from A&E for the History.com moderation job. I'm looking forward to next week when we move to the new message boards that have better controls for dealing with some of the characters we've got on that site. There's really no better way to describe them.
