Milk and Honey

May 08, 2010 21:52

Every once in a while, a sublimely blended cocktail of actor, character and scene comes along and short circuits my brain. I start mixing metaphors badly. I watch Pineapple Express and think it's the best thing ever. I make icons, something I have no earthly business doing.

Blame it all on James Franco playing Scott Smith in Milk )

Mr. Franco is a cutie pie, that's for sure. Whenever I think of him, though, my mind always goes back to that one picture of him in class, sleeping. XD

Nice icons! ♥

Thank you, Tig! I imagine you're talking about the TV show, Freaks and Geeks? I never watched it. I had never even heard of James Franco until I saw Milk. Freaks and Geeks is on my list of shows to watch now. :)

Haha, no. I'm not talking about Freaks and Geeks, although I TOTALLY would watch that too. Franco went back to college somewhere (New York?) and someone snapped a picture of him in lecture, fast asleep. Here's one. Not too flattering, but the dude was tired. ;)

Oh! :D Knew nothing about this either. Now I won't be able to sleep until I find out what class and whether he passed it. Poor tired guy!

I adored James Franco in Pinapple Express and that was a movie I never expected to like, let alone want to own. As for Franco as Scott in Milk....I thought he was as good if not better than Sean Penn.

I totally felt your professional authority when you said "no hotlinking"

Fire, I haven't even seen all of Pineapple Express - came in when Franco's foot was through the windshield, but like you, I couldn't believe how much I enjoyed it. The final scene when they're having breakfast? I was dying.

I totally agree on his performance in Milk. I believed him.

Mine too, followed closely by the part-time tramp in glasses, Emile Hirsch. Thank you!

Did you know he's been accepted for a PhD in English at Yale? And that he's published a short story (not very good, I'm afraid)?

Fabulous icons and you already know that wish Milk had been an endless subway stair scene. If only someone posted that clip, I'd play it on a loop.

Thank you, but that's not fair. I was ready to move on to the next topic of interest, having come to peace with this one, and now you tell me he's that kind of smart? I must go read the story. How bad was it on a scale from 1-10?

I really don't even care what you post about because I'm just so happy to see a post from you on a night I actually happen to be here, too. The stars have aligned in my favor, Jude! ♥

However, James Franco was perfection in Milk. I liked him, too, just as much as Sean Penn and Emile Hirsch.

And fic? Is there some to come? I would dearly love the answer to be yes. *falls prostrate before you*

Aw, hi Court! It's wonderful to hear from you, too. You're looking you're usual fresh self with your sexy icon. Hope all's well with you. I mentioned the fic because it has been on my brain more than usual lately. There are several stories I'd love to finish, I've worked on them on and off for the past year, but I'm really lazy and undisciplined and very easily distracted by all sorts of things as evidenced by this post. I still hold out hope. :)
