For those who want a visual, here's a low-res of things (although not so many explosions, firecrackers, etc, in this clip) and here's a high-res to prove that Vancouver is beautiful and that the seagulls never shut up. The whole thing reminds me a lot of...well, Cross campus, during the midnight finals screams, or things like Tap Night-- tall buildings full of lights and people, and the vertical space of human habitation sort of blending into the world's biggest common room.
Also I would like to note that, if not in that clip, the cheering is sort of, um, gay. Nasal and wimpy and "you go girl" sort of hockey cheering. This is what I get for living near Davie? (It really is a lot like Yale.)
