Hannibal wandered in, milkshake in one hand to counteract the hot day. "Whatcha doin', babe?"

Trust him to walk in on future planning. Of course.

Of course.

"I am... being organised," she answered honestly. If still a bit vaguely. "In that, apartment hunting sort of way." Less vague. It needed to get talked about eventually.

"Apartment hunting?" he asked, keeping his voice deceptively calm. "Where at?"

"In Roanoke," she said, sitting up a little, "and hopefully really close to where classes are going to be." Not that she figured she'd have too many of them timetabled in an arts course. "Or, at least not across the other side of the city."

"Oh. Cool," he said and left it at that before settling his milkshake on the nightstand and flopping down on the bed.

Admittedly, it wasn't a...great response to things but when had he ever been great in situations like this? She probably still remembered the wedding aftermath.

Yes, she definitely remembered. Still Angela had imagined getting a little more from him than that.

"That's it?" It was a little less than she'd expected, after studious avoidance the topic for so long. She didn't even know what she had expected, just... Something.

"Yep." Nope. He was just trying to keep up the veil of avoidance he'd been working so long. It was a stubborn talent. "What, did you want me to help?"

"Well you can," she offered, pointing casually at the screen. "But sweetie, I was more thinking that this thing we're avoiding is going to have to get talked about eventually, and... now is probably a better time than later."

"There're things to talk about?" he asked, deciding he could be annoyingly obtuse and make her work for it, if she wanted to talk. He...was afraid of talking about this in all actuality.

"There are definitely things to talk about," Angela assured him. "And you know it too." He was not that dumb. After all this time, she'd learned more than enough to know.

"You remember how we're leaving in a few weeks?" Just checking.

"I remember," he said and suppressed a wince. "And you're being productive about it. That's awesome, really awesome. Very conscientious."

He was just going to wait till a few days beforehand and then decide. Or something.

"What can I say? I like not being homeless," she said, shooting him a quick smile. "The living in a tent idea is definitely not for me." And she didn't really think it was for him either.

"Don't knock it 'till you try it," he advised, snickering and then shaking his head. He made an effort and sat up before he sighed. "Fine. Talking. What do we need to talk about?"

"I was thinking probably start with that really well dodged topic of 'us'." It'd been a really long time since they'd had one of those conversations. "And what we're doing about 'us' at the end of the summer."

Dammit, he'd been hoping she'd ask about decorating her apartment or where to forward her mail. Hannibal made a face.

"Right, that whole thing." He paused and bit the inside his cheek. "I don't know. What do you wanna do?"

"I'd like to say 'you'," she answered, keeping this light as possible. "But, I don't think that'd really help our decision here."

"I don't want to think it automatically means and end, just because we're not here."
