Saturday Morning at the Arms

Feb 25, 2006 05:54

The morning sun poured in through the open draperies and fell across the bed with warmth and comforting heat. He'd only just dozed off, but when a demon sleeps, he does it with panache. He'd really gone under ( Read more... )

It was a delayed reaction, probably due to the turmoil in his mind or his mun sleeping, but Bel sensed something was wrong with Phoebe. Something very wrong. Fighting off panic, he shimmered to her room at the Arms.

Phoebe felt him arrive and tried to sit up.

"Cole?" she whispered, trying not to wake up Crowley. She shot a panicked look to Kiki and then looked at Cole.

"Nothing happened..." I think.

Cole stared at the scene before him. All of Phoebe's words of love and soulmates, here she was lying in bed with another man. And woman. He turned around without a word and stalked out of the room.

Phoebe got up dizzily and chase after him.

"Cole, stop. It's not what you think!"

"Next thing I know I'll find you in bed with the Source of All Evil himself!" Cole snapped.

If he had slapped her, he couldn't have hurt her more and her step faltered.

"I wouldn't..." she stared at him. "Cole, listen to me, please? It's not what it looks like, it's not. Kiki and I were soing something and there was a backlash... it threw me across the room."

"And into bed with Crowley?" he snarled. "Nice spell."

Phoebe would have glared if the pain wasn't so loud in her head.

"I was knocked out," she said softly. "Ask Kiki."

"Oh, Kiki...." Cole called out. "Can you come in here?"

Phoebe leaned against the couch, determined not to let the dizziness and pain best her right now. She realized that a black satin nightgown wasn't the best thing to be arguing in, but it would take to much effort to get changed right now.

The call was hardly necessary. By this point, slinky black nightgown or not, Kiki, yanking her sleep-toussled hair ribbon off her head, was out of bed, her dark eyes flashing.

"Cole - Belthazor - or whoever you are -" Kiki sputtered furiously, "You. Are. A. JERK. What is wrong with you, anyway? If you actually loved Phoebe, you would actually trust her once in a while, or perhaps at least wait to get the true full story before you start ripping out her heart again! But no, all you care about is how things appear at first glance! You are a selfish, petulant child who throws tantrums when he can't get what he wants, and if you think you will ever succeed in making a future with any woman you had better learn to grow up, and do it quickly. Every single thing I have seen you do has been motivated by selfishness, you have no reagard for the feelings of others, least of all the woman you claim you love!" Kiki is practically shouting now. "Everything Phoebe does for you, you stomp on and throw back in her face. And I am sick of ( ... )

Phoebe gaped at her friend, not previously aware that Kiki had had such a temper... nor that they were wearing matching gowns. She swallowed, gripping the back of the couch.

"Cole, if you won't believe us, then ask Valkyrie. She was here with me last night."

[ooc: I'm going to be AFK for the next few hours - I figure this would give CrowleyMun a chance to catch up - because I'm sure he would DEFINITELY be up and there for this :) ]

Bel was struck almost speechless by Kiki's passionate tirade. "I'm not...." he sputtered. "What do you expect me to think when I find you two in matching lingerie with him?"

[And yes, pausing for Crowley is a good idea. :) ]

He finally drug himself out of bed, the promise of strife far too much to just let go.

Besides, Kiki was a corker when she got fired up like this.

"You'd naturally think the wrong thing, you daft bastard. I'm no monster and I don't debache little girls. That's more your style, I think.

Good morning, little ones. Phoebe...how are you feeling, pet?"

Phoebe looks up. "My head feels like I was slammed into a wall," she admits. "And the world is spinning a great bit."
