“You know, I think that this is the best gift you could have given me.” The Doctor whispered as he pressed another kiss to her temple, his arms encircling her, holding her to him.
Donna scoffed lightly as she rolled her eyes, “Well, I’m glad, because I didn’t have anything else for you.”
He gave her a soft squeeze as he buried his nose into her hair, nuzzling the gentle locks, causing her to shake her head at him.
“You know, for someone who’s not into the whole domestic side to life, you have a funny way of showing it.” She commented, running her hands along his, down the slender fingers that hugged her belly, grinning slightly at the thought of the rough, wonderful, and downright blissful nine months they had ahead for them, and then, so many countless moments.
They were going to go from holding each other’s hands to having a tiny one pressed between them, with tiny fingers. Their nights were going to be filled with sore feet from pacing a room in attempt to calm their child to sleep, and bedtime stories; even some ending in tears, and others with understanding smiles. Scraped knees and toothless grins, dirty clothes, dirty faces, the feel of a warm body pressed against her, and the feeling of overwhelming love for the son or daughter she helped to create. It was all waiting for her, for them, their lives forever devoted to the precious miracle growing within her.
“I can feel her, you know.” He whispered into the soft part of flesh on her bare shoulder.
Donna laughed quietly, “You are such a show off, how in the world…” She trailed off, his words sinking further into her brain, “‘Her’?”
He turned her to face him, nodding when their eyes met, “I can feel her.” He repeated, bringing one of his hands up and tapping the side of his head with a finger, “Right there, just a whisper at the moment, but noticeable. Taking after her mother already.”
Donna pulled him down to kiss him properly, “I love you so much.” She told him breathed as their foreheads touched, noses slowly caressing the other.
“And I love you.”
