This is a really nifty concept. I think the prose style works really well considering the subject matter. The dream interludes are beautiful, and I had the most incredible *heartpang* moment when Patrick intervened at Best Buy.

Couple of possible typos:

That night Patrick dreams in greens and browns, in black hair and whites eyes. white eyes? whites of eyes?

He has too. is this deliberate, or did you mean "He has to"?

And perfect choice of music too. ♥♥♥ For Crowded House and Ben Lee. (And I'll always love Sarah Blasko's cover of Flame Trees better.)

My mum and I have wars over whose version is better. She's a pretty avid and loyal Cold Chisel fan, and I love Sarah Blasko the best.

I like both and they're actually pretty hard to compare. I mean, the Cold Chisel version is awesome because he wrote it, because that song obviously holds so much meaning for him (something that is easier to see live), but the Sarah Blasko version, it takes on a world of it's own.

It's a gorgeous song either way.

Thank you so much. ^^ I was kinda worried that the ending was a little rushed so I'm glad you thought the progression was good.

And yay! I'm thinking of making a list of Australian songs that everyone should hear. (It'd be pretty bloody extensive though)
