Back from Cambridge, and what's bizarre is that what really struck me is how nice it was to make a break from the whole D4 crowd. Because I hadn't really seen it as one of my motivations for applying to Cambridge. But over there, I got talking to all of these fascinating people who were not just your like BESS and Orts in UCD crowd, and I just really became hugely aware of how much of a bubble we live in.
Because you know, the D4 thing is funny to laugh at, but sometimes when you go out on a Saturday night or whatever, it really does strike you how same-y everyone is.
And yet, at the same time, only one person in four who applies to Cambridge gets in, so I don't want to get too caught up in the notion.
