Today is Jenny's 16th birthday, which also happens to be the anniversary of the death of one George Herman Ruth. In a strange twist, today was also the groundbreaking ceremony on the new Yankee Stadium, a replacement for the House that Ruth Built, scheduled to open in 2009.
Much to my delight, Bill Simmons published his playoff race prognostications, and the Reddest of Sox fans put the Yankees in the top slot. :Glee:
Apparently, Denis Leary was in the broadcast booth at last night's Sox game; hilarity ensued. I had no idea Kevin Youkilis was Jewish, I'm pretty sure the famous Moneyball book dubbed him the Greek God of Walks.
As I was typing this, Bernie Williams passed Don Mattingly on Yankees career doubles list; only Lou Gehrig has more.
