American Gladiators
Holy Crap Crickets Wow!!!
American Gladiators is back in action and better than ever! I realize that most of my love for this show stems from my nostalgia from watching it as a kid, but really thats the best part. They could have gone and made this a whole different show by changing all the events and the look of everything, but no! They stayed true to their spandex roots. The events are almost exactly the same as before! Awesome!!
Assault - where the gladiator shoots tennis balls from a cannon at the contender
Joust - where they go at each other with giant Q-tips trying to knock the other off of their platform
The Wall - scaling that crazy rock climbing wall with a gladiator on your ass
And of course the Eliminator which is a little different, but most of the elements are still there.
I think the only event I loved thats missing is the one where they would all run around in the giant metal hamster balls :-P
Oh but it gets better!!
Hulk Hogan is one of the hosts!
Heres a drinking game for ya! Take a shot every time Hulk calls somebody "Brother". You'll be sloshed before they even get to the first commercial break :-D
And Drama! OMG!! Okay, its pretty obvious the Gladiators are just acting, much like their retarded pro wrestling cousins. But the contestants are freaking crazy! One guy took off before the whistle took a swing at one gladiator, then ripped the helmet off the next before the Ref stepped in, chewed his ass out, then made him start over! :-P AND the Ref just happens to be the guy who Refereed in Dodgeball! :-D Hilarious!
Another lady freaking hit her head in beginning the Eliminator and had blood running down her face! Every time they cut back to her there was more blood!!
How could it possibly get better right? Well it DOES!!! :-P
I haven't even gone into the Gladiators themselves yet!
Okay, these guys REALLY get into their characters! One guy is called Wolf, he freaking looks like he should be cast as Sabertooth in the next X-men movie. And he Howls before every event! :-D There's also a tribal looking fell'a named Toa, A pretty boy blonde guy, Titan, should play He-Man should they ever make that movie!
For the women there's Crush, aptly named cause I definitely have a crush on her :-P, Fury who looks sort of like Sporty Spice on steroids, very frightening! And Hellga! She's a freaking tank of a woman with pigtails!! Crazy I tell you!
Theres a bunch more, but those were the most memorable for me.
Seriously! I Love this show! It may just get me to start watching TV again!
