35 Years!
So Sunday was my parents 35th anniversary party. It all turned out FAR better than I would have expected to two weeks ago when I told my mom I'd plan it for them. Of course this was due in no small part to all the help I got. Many of my mom's friends got involved, lending a hand anywhere we needed it and even bring quite a bit of food to add to the Costco feast Kari helped me to gather.
Kari was pretty much my coordinator for the whole event! Without her helping me literally every step of the way I would have diving ass backwards into insanity :-P
So yeah, everything was great! Almost everyone invited showed up, despite the super last minute notice. The food was actually all really good, plus I was amazed how much we still had left after everyone had had their fill. The restaurant we had the whole thing at worked out perfectly! And my parents had a wonderful time, which of course was the most important part.
After was all over and time for clean up, I even had the enjoyment of reliving some of my "wonder years" by manning the dish washing station I used to work at over 8 years ago. I REALLY don't miss that job! :-P
Anyway, I really don't think things could have gone any better. I'm happy that for once I was able to do something nice for my parents that they'll always remember. Seeing as how they've done so much for me and all :-D
