Damn you Best Buy!!
So the other day I was at Best Buy looking for CD label when I was a movie display with new releases on it. There it was, 300 collector's edition DVD 7/24. "HOLY SHIT!!! They moved the date up! That in 2 DAYS!!" Lets just say I was rather excited.
So Tuesday finally came. To my surprise I was actually able to play cool all day. Breathing normally, No Spartan Spaz attacks. I let the day go by like any other tuesday. Then right after the podcast meeting I was on my way! First stop, Fred Meyer's No luck. Not that I would really expect them to have it, for some reason it seems Target and them are always a day behind on releases. So I said Fuck it! To Best Buy!
I walked in the door, figuring there would HAVE to be a display tower or something with a big'ol card board Spartan next to it... Nothing! I check the new release section, but half the movies there were way past new. I looked around frantically. No sign anywhere. Then I went back and found the ad. There it was, clear as day. 300 7/24. I knew I hadn't made it up. "Thats it!" I found an employee sorting through CDs. "excuse me, where can I find 300?" "Sorry, it doesn't come out until the 31st, next week"....
All I could do is stand and stare at the guy...
He finally broke the silence "Did you see the ad that said the 24th?"
...Me thinking, oh good, I'm NOT crazy "yeah"
"yeah, they changed the release date after those were printed"
Why the Fuck would they still be up then?!? AGGHHH!!!!! Do they know what torment they just put me through!? I thanked the guy and left, but inside I just wanted to skewer who ever allowed this blatant false advertisment, in the eye with a spear!!
I suppose I should thank them for re-igniting the Spartan like rage that burns inside of me. Now when I finally get my hands on the DVD and can watch it again it'll be all the more sweet! :-D
