This was most definitely a weekend for the books! .....or rather the pages of LJ :-D
Friday
kicked everything off with a long awaited return to Casa. That is, long awaited by everyone else. It was only my 2nd experience there. But damn was it a good one. Potato Burritos are too super freaking yummy! Later on Aaron, Kayser and I hit the Horseshoe to catch some drinks and some crazy spanish TV before the show they were going to started.
Saturday
was pretty much a blur building up to the U.S.E. show on campus. Many friends were in attendance. Lauren and I met up early with Julie. Then after getting our stamps, Steve caught up with us and all headed to Casa again for some Carbo power before the show. On our way we saw Patrick, Melissa, and Erica all headed to the show as well.
After fueling up with some much needed Potato Power, we all headed back to the show to catch up with Aaron, Ben and all the other Party People.
The show was amazing as always. Steve, Aaron, and I got right into the thick of things and became one with the sea of bouncing sweaty bodies. We were treated with I think five new incredible songs that will continue to haunt my thoughts until their new album is released.
At one point in the show a train got started which twisted and turned all over the room. It even sucked in Aaron, Lauren and Julie for awhile. But my favorite moment would have to be when U.S.E. broke into a sweet speedy beat Launching Steve and I from the back of the room straight through to the front of the stage. It was incredible!! I don't think anything can quite compare to a full on U.S.E. experience like that.
By the end of the show we were absolutely drenched in sweat and completely energized. I made sure to spread the love by passing out many sweaty hugs to everyone who had decided to hang out in back.
After the show Lauren and I headed back to our apartments for quick showers before heading to the BAMA. Much like in Crank, We realized we had to keep our energy up so that we wouldn't pass out from sheer exhaustion so on the way up the hill we rolled down the windows blasted Finch all the way up. We were pretty good for awhile after that :-P
Sunday
was wonderful. Stuffed French Toast at IHOP. Hot tubbing at the Apple residence in Sedro. A Pirate Birthday Party BBQ for Erin, complete with Hornswagglers and Scalawags. Knocked Up which was very funny! Great movie! And to end it all a Magnificent Lighting storm! It was SO beautiful. I just cranked my music and blasted towards Bellingham as the sky danced and crackled with jolts of pure electricity. I LOVE moments like that. Experiences that can never be reproduced. You just have to take advantage of them when they come along and enjoy the hell out of them.
I think this weekend was the first time in a long time I've felt so Free. I'm out on my own and for once I feel absolutely great about that. Fuck floaties! I'm going to be just fine! :-D
