So my friend Michelle is throwing a 16th birthday party for her son and apparently he wants it to be 80s themed. Naturally, we thought this was a cool idea! So she was asking me what would make sense so far as decorations for the party and the only thing I could think of was neon colors. Very popular in the 80s. ;) Upon further research I found an idea to use geometric shapes, animal print, checkered prints, and posters of bands and movies! I also saw an idea for a cake made to look like a Rubik's cube, but then I thought making a cake to look like Pac-man, might be possible as well.
Anyhow, as a result of all this looking into 80s stuff, it reminded me of when I was a kid and how I love Labyrinth, Legend, The Neverending story... all those classic 80s movies and the music wasn't that bad either. ;) I've always had a thing for 60s and 80s music, aside from electronic. Which is really weird when I think of it... I don't think any of it goes together.
Right now I'm watching Labyrinth, the part where David Bowie is singing to Sarah and she's trying to wake herself up from the dream. David Bowie rocks... :)
Random thought: Just made me think of how I heard my husband's collaboratoin with his best friend and another chap that is a friend of Anthony's best friend. The song was surprisingly very good. That was the first time that they did any music together. Anyway, I loved it and then I sat there and was like wait a minute... it sounds a bit 80s. I told my husband while his friend was there and they all cracked up. Anthony just shrugged. He's not a huge fan of the 80s, but he can appreciate some elements of the decade. I just thought it was ironic because he's a bit of an 80s hator. Anyway, job well done, my dear. It's good to get out of the comfort zone and push the envelope. I hope they continue with the project.
Vive le 80s!!!
