Ok, so I actually ONLY heard about this show happening like a few days ago - I forget exactly how just that I wasn like huh? at something and was able to click a link to the
WW wiki page about it.
Apparently NBC was going to have a Wonder Woman show...and at first I was like - YAY... but then I saw who was actually going to play Diana and I felt disappointed.
{*BELOW IS MY OPINION, IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, OH WELL*}
I'm sure a few of my friends are Adrianne Palicki (Supernatural's Jess, Smallville's first Kara, and Friday Night Lights) fans, so I do apologize to them in advance - but I just can't see her being Diana or Wonder Woman... Maybe a human or whatever, but not an Amazon or a superhero. (Tom Welling at least looked like a dorky Clark Kent when the show started and he grew into looking like Superman.)
Seeing her in the costume? Made me wince and it wasn't even because of the leggings/colors/shinyness/etc that other people had complained about - she just didn't fit. She looked like someone you'd see at some rip-off comic con place. Sorry but I just can never see her as Wonder Woman, and that was my first turn-off for the show.
Also Diana's main villain was going to be Veronica Cale - who I don't know personally since I haven't read WW comics but I've
read her page - I feel like the character is a horrible rip-off from Lex Luthor - who at least turned EVIL and was good at being evil - which I don't doubt the actress playing the character could do, but out of all Diana's ememies, that was the one they chose? DISAPPOINTING.
{WAS ARES TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR????}
And looking at the character list/descriptions -- don't even me started on it. X.x
What I find interesting is that I could only recognize four people (excluding Diana herself) that was from the comics - Veronica, Etta, Artemis and then Steve Trevor. And Artemis is only a "flashback". I don't see how the hell *only* Artemis could be in a flashback or in the show at all and YET NONE OF THE OTHER AMAZONS are... especially her mother. I would assume probably eventually we'd have see her, but I would have introduced her in the first episode - since it is like the whole reason Diana exists in the first place.
I'm actually kinda thankful that NBC rejected the pilot/show, although I am VERY curious to see exactly why the pilot recieved mixed reviews - hopefully it'll get leaked online somewhere or something like Aquaman did. [

DC should have just let Smallville writers take care of Diana and Batman... probably would have been safer and a better sell - and that's saying something - although I do admit they've seem like they got their writing caps to "good" now (but only because Chlollie is now canon).
I would of course love to hear what you guys think - did you know about the pilot? Did you care for Palicki for Diana? Did you hate/like/love the costume? Were you looking forward to it? How do you feel about the main villain? Lack of Amazons?
