http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plantar_fasciitis What the hell?? The ortho-whatever said that it's really rare in teenagers, and that I have to do all this stuff in order for it to get better. If it does get better.
They took x-rays, did a mold of my feet and prodded at places that hurt. It was awful. I knew my feet were a problem: ever since last summer, I couldn't walk for long periods without being in a lot of pain. I stopped walking to school (which was awful, seeing as how we live like, 7 blocks away) and my daily Parker and Otis visits were excruciating (but worth it - their iced mochas are DELICIOUS). I had to all but quit Elmo's, and had to stop running. I joined the swim team to keep myself in shape, and since then I've been biking and cycling, but still. It was horrible.
Appreciate your feet, people. They carry you around. It's pretty amazing, if you think about it... all day long, your entire body weight is propped up on two fleshy, papaya-sized feet. Gotta give em credit. Now if only mine weren't busted...
In order to make myself feel better, I have posted a list of books I got the other day. I've read them all already (except for the last Sandman book) but had to buy them. That's just how it works.
And now, some shameless promotions:
If you're in the mood for a trippy read, I'd definitely recommend Arkham Asylum. It's amazing, and the artwork is...it's Dave McKean. Nuff said.
History of Violence is trippy in a 'Hmmm...' kinda way. Plus, the art is by Vince Locke - iow, very good.
I couldn't find a picture of the new Wormwood book, but it's called 'It Only Hurts When I Pee'. The story is about a little worm that possesses (there's really no other word for it) dead bodies and solves crimes. Ben Templesmith is the guy who did 30 Days of Night and Fell. He's hot, and I love him.
The Discworld GN is just The Colour of Magic and The Light Fantastic in art form. It's really well done.
I'm a little scared to read the last Sandman book. It just means that...that it's over, ya know? That the series is over. I think I'll cry (and then read them all over again).
That is all.
