spring break

I just got back from the Cinque Terre, a world heritage site (UNESCO). very nice place, especially if it was a little warmer. the hostel there, ostello5terre.com is great. i had a wonderful time hanging out and drinking the local wine with the people that were in the hostel with me, all under the glaring eye of these local townsfolk who seemed to be disapproving of the idea of kids sitting around and drinking wine in their lounge. well they did sell us the wine...but the conversation got a little loud and animated i guess. sasha got randomly assigned to the bunk above me luckily and so we had fun going down on the ferry. the hostel was also surprisingly ecofriendly. i drank a shitload of wine with sasha, and went to this trattoria, or resteraunt that was great. 5 small tables on an enclosed terrace with a lineoleum floor and some of the best seafood cooked right next too you in this hidden little kithcen. i dream of you, oh insalata di mar. incidentally i had a nightmare about subsitition in terms of the acting method that jack is teaching us. no wonder actors are a stressed out bunch.
next cam lucca, a wonderfully non'touristed town with a great set of intact town walls that forms a park that surrounds the city, setting the stage for the passagiata, where the whole town walks the walk and struts their stuff to see and be seen. and the best pastry i tasted yet i got in the cafe there, parqunella or something. it had a warm flacky outside and an even nicer and much warmer inside of some sort of riso filling. wolfed that one down. i bought the bruncello, some sort of raisan bread pastry, but that wasnt nearly as good. but lucca was wonderfully full of locals, and an interesting.
got a long and semi-humorous story about the girl and the bag, but thats too long to type up at a 3 euro an hour here in florence. the best part of this trip has to be that i got a balcony over looking the town walls - everyone and there mother waved at me and i gave a few apathetic ciaos back, and now im in an empty room with a semiprivate terrace. yippee for no more fucking bunk beds. i like how i drop 3 euro i go to see the cart explode! Ciao
