Yesterday, my last birthday present, the one I got for myself, arrived in the mail! I had ordered the Arashi Around Asia 2006 Dome concert pamphlet, and it finally got here *flails*
In honor of that, I'm posting probable the next biggest collection of stuff in our apartment--Arashi-related . . . everything, honestly. Because the sparkles pretty much assimilate everything in the brain after a while, all sorts of things get associated with Arashi, just based on sparkliness and color, but most of the unequivocably Arashi swag is kept in what we only slightly facetiously refer to as the 'shrine.'
*cue Angelic pop music*
BWAHHHHHH!!!!!!
Though to be fair, the standees are usually stashed away. Having them hanging out in the bedroom would be . . . weird^^;
The Jun segment of the standee probably looks familiar to some of you from the Boy's and my adventures at Matsumoto Castle last summer:
I . . . still can't believe we did that >_<;;;
Anyhow. *coughs* The Shrine, as it usually is:
BWAAAAAAAH!!!
Basically, when we acquired more bookshelves for the living room, we found ourselves with an ugly media shelf that needed a new purpose, and the Shrine was born. It also concentrated most of the boybandery into one space, which was probably a good thing.
What? I live with a librarian. We like to have our shelves tidy, even if nothing else is.
I like how customizable the shelves are--it works well with a purpose like this ^_^
So, on to the sparkles!
Why yes, it's a random large picture of Ohno eating pudding . . . There was an anime convention in town this summer, and one of the sellers had some random Arashi pics and clearly unofficial stickers, and I felt compelled to buy things from the sheer joy of seeing Arashi paraphernalia sold in Texas.
Ohno: NOM NOM NOM
Saigo no Yakusoku and Ooku KE dvd boxes, and Ohmiya adorableness!
The first single and my concert dvds! I think it's about time to watch another concert and play the Arashi con drinking game \o/
Unofficial picture books!
I enjoy these, but the paparazzi pics when they're just out and about kind of squick me out. The concert outfits, though. Those make it all worth it ^^;
Various AAA06 souvenirs, the Dream A Live and Time straps, and a C/D/G no Arashi charm&hearts I think the Boy freaked out the people at Mandarake by pouring through every single box of jumbled idol artifacts, and then even more when he yelped when he found things. They did not know what to do with that ^^;
The last *sniffs* official Arashi calendar box. I'm so sad there aren't more of these, and the unofficial ones always look so . . . cheap and overcrowded . . .
Heh. It's been sexy o'clock April/May 2009 in my kitchen for a long time. I can't imagine why ^^;
>_>
*coughs*
Moving on . . .
The 07-08 Calendar, with poster! Also several copies of the same unofficial pic book. I'd like to pretend that that was because I was using some for cookie references, but no. I just had happy clicky finger when CDJapan claimed to have a new picture book, and since I was at work both times I repeated, I didn't check. ORZ Lesson learned (at least until next time).
Arasheep! This is the slightly sparkly, pastel rainbow sheep I got in answer to Zan's adorable rainbow sheep plushie, and then I stole its awesome name, because it was too good not to steal.
Next to him is the utterly awesome Aiba Christmas card I got from Nianna last year&hearts
The most Matsufabulous box IN THE WORLD, coutesy of
tiny_hydrus&hearts I keep stickers, pictures and other small Arashi-related odds and ends in here. Plus it coordinates so well with the 09-10 calendar and Step and Go cube!
Assorted contents of the Matsubox:
I am a bad person because every time I went to the unofficial idol shops, I dug for the most terrible ridiculous outfit pictures and grabbed them ^^;
But can you blame me? LOOK AT IT.
Other assorted pics:
Sometimes, I actually got pics because they were *gasp* pretty:
Remember how I mentioned how I just got my Dome pamphlet? These were all freebies
the seller sent along.
The Arashi Family Album and Scene strap
The 08-09 Calendar
CDs and books, both official and . . . less official(books)
The Step and Go cube and some awesome blown glass critters that I bought in NJ because they had boyband connotations. I swear I almost bought so many because damn near everything can sooner or later be associated with sparkly rainbow boy bandery ^^;
Close-ups!
Everything on this shelf makes me giddy&hearts The Time concert light up bangle was one of the first pieces of swag we saw at our first Mandarake and the Boy INSISTED I get it. I think I'm under obligation to wear it to class at least once. Halloween?
My two concert pamphlets, from Scene and AAA Dome! Someday, I hope to have many more. I really love the pamphlets! I think the next time I go to Japan I will have to have a pamphlet and calendar budget. No more ice cream for me!
I got the Arashi Kubrick Bear in the arashi_on garage sale this spring. The box is so cute I haven't taken the bear out, not even once ^^;
The 06-07 calendar is soooo pretty&hearts
These don't have a proper place in the shrine yet because I don't have the right transparent display box yet (I looooove, you, Container Store!), but how freaking awesome are these unofficial Arashi Scene candies Zan sent me??? &hearts
So much for the shrine. Though the shrine houses most of the unequivocal Arashi stuff in the house, over time, there are a few non-shrine items running around as well:
My Arashi jewelry collection, courtesy of the Boy and
blueandflawless:
The matching earrings and necklace on the top of the picture are from the Boy, and if you're interested, he found them
here.
TBH, the earrings are a bit big to wear (at least for me), so I'm trying to think of things to do with them--charms?
Blue's friend made the other pendant, and I desperately need to clean it, as the silver has gotten tarnished.
The Boy also got me these last year, which cracks me up:
They actually came with an orange glass, too, but it got broken. Dumb luck that it was the expendable one ^_^v
We Matsufabbed the KitchenAid! (totally counts as boybandery in my book)
And then there's the boyband-related sticker collection:
If it sparkles, and it's in our house, it's de facto boybandery, but I think I'll stop there, before it gets utterly ridiculous.
But just for fun, I thought I'd post pics of my nails from this week:
Monday-Wednesday: Nfu Oh 45 over Nfu Oh 103:
Here's just the 103 alone!
The final look!
Thursday-Friday:
This is Milani Hi-Tech, and as you can tell here, it's a linear holographic polish! RAINBOWS. RAINBOWS ON MY NAILS
I wore them because I was teaching Sir Gawain and the Green Knight again this week!
This is actually kind of hazardous--I keep getting distracted by the rainbows while I drive ^^;
Speaking of which,
OMFG, this will be mine--once the store isn't out of stock, that is Hey there, flist! Got any plans this weekend? Mine involve writing, boyband watching, maybe a picspam, and the beginning of Christmas shopping 2011.
Speaking of the holidays, anyone want a nondenominational (except possibly the church or Arashi) winter holiday card of some sort? If so, PM me, and I'll get started on it ^_^v
