Hello, lj people!! It's been forever! Basically, my life blew up early this summer, though it's slowly coming back together and I'm not here to talk about that, but just to post some pics of some cookies I made in early August
( Read more... )
That's what I was thinking, too! There's something about all the lacing plus the red/black color scheme and the fingerless gloves that . . . just makes that outfit kind of sinfully awesome!
And I make fun of Aiba's manpris (because honestly they're not my thing), but they actually work well on the cookie cutter shape, so I won't complain too hard. The only real problem with them was that that red icing took on this weird soft texture that worried me, had they survived long enough to ship out. Ohno's red shirt had the same issue, to the point that I actually mixed up a new batch for the lacing on Sho and the ruffles down the button placket on Ohno, just to make sure it came out ok and intact.
My life in a sentence.
*laughs*
For me, the sentence would be "I could stare at Aiba's hair forever." ^^;
I do have a figure collection--female action figures began it, but in grad school, I shifted to the Japanese ones which often have interchangeable parts, but no points of articulation, so they aren't actually 'action figures.'
I haven't counted in years, but there are . . . many--I tend to have collecting tendencies, but not, thank goodness, hoarding tendencies.
As for nail polishes . . .
>_>
At this point . . . maybe 300+? Most are pretty cheap brands, like Sinful Colors, Kleancolor, and NYX girls, wich all run $1-$2, but I have some fairly pricey ones, too--it's not a cheap habit ^^;
I have this . . . color thing. It manifests in the cookies and in nail polish. But I tend to go in phases, and right now, I'm in total polish mode--it's probably a control thing as life has gotten so messy since the summer. But I change out my polish every other day or so. Right now it's Aiba-blinged out in a polish called Leaves Jingle (not my swatch photo). It's in honor of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, which I'm teaching--I'm wearing green nails each day I teach it but don't like repeating for two classes ^^;
But someday, I'll post pictures of my other bad behaviors like figures and polish ^_^; It's possible I'm a bit obsessive ^^;;
Oooh, that action figure collection sounds interesting. I think the closest thing I've got is an Uhura doll with her own Federation symbol stand.XD
300+!! And how awesome is it that you color-coordinate for your lesson theme! I looove nail polish and often treat myself to them but I'm terrible about sitting down and putting it on. I end up with drawers full of old, mostly full bottles.
It's possible I'm a bit obsessive I think with fangirls this is a given. Along with the collecting tendencies.
