the mass pike aftermath
My eyes are itchy. I'm proud of myself that I stayed awake all the way back from Mansfield to keep JLR company, but I know I need so much sleep. Nevertheless, I didn't write at all while I was in Canada, and I have an abundance of talks to ponder and aftermaths to realize. I might as well start with NEFFA.
So much cool dancing -- creative rapper (Charm City), sleek longsword (Half Moon and Orion), the breathless engagement of contra medleys and the high energy of regular contras with hundreds of people, absorbing Breton line dances, ECD, the silliness of singing squares, etc. Perhaps I could have met more new people, but I did meet a couple international dancers who I'd heard of! I also re-introduced myself to several people I met at last year's neffa or some other dance. I was thoroughly happy to spend time with friends from Pinewoods or SCD, and dance a lot with new friends from Ann Arbor or Boston. :) And, to complete my blissed-out feelings, I had an unexpected number of INTENSE English dances and couple dances...
Omigosh. I suppose I can sleep now. Going back to work tomorrow, after a week in Canada + neffa, will be so painful.
