thursday:
I got up and discoverd it was GORGEOUS and WARM outside. I walked to the thrift store and found a bunch of super cool, vintage fabric for dirt cheap. I also found some weird wood stuff that I picked up for the couch hippie's new digs.
I made my way down to tj's to find the couch hippie, and ran into fellow tj'er, Bre. she agreed to go to lunch with Amanda and myself. we ate fish n' chips which weren't really very great, but quite greasy.
Bre and I went to Kari's apt with the 2" ocean view. we played uno, and with her hamster, and smoked some. you think I smoke too much now? so do I, but it's been a better painkiller than vicodin (it doesn't make me sick or mean).
I returned to find L's girl leaving town. I cleaned the place up for the pending return of Kaveh and his mom. after Loren took the girl to the airport, we had dinner at this great little hole-in-the-wall thai place by the beach. the little asian girl serving us was adorable and spoke adorable broken english. she counted the stereos on my shirt before she let me leave, a hipster at heart.
Amanda called me after work to have me over for the season finally on Nip/Tuck, which I had missed, but she tevo'ed. that is really one of the great shows on tv. we drank a bottle of shiraz and ate tator tots. we missed the last few minutes somehow (I think we got most of the BIG and pertinent stuff) and I'm DYING to know the end, but don't tell me here because Kaveh hasn't seen it yet and doesn't know who the carver is.
friday:
I took Loren to the airport to go home, and went shopping with Kaveh's mom. we went to Sephora and spent too much of her money and all of my gift card. now I have $20 mascara. I always avoided buying it there because I don't need an expensive make-up habit, and now I am screwed. we went to best buy and traded in my defunct mp3 player, a gift card and some donated cash in exchange for a 2gb ipod nano. I'm happy I got the mp3 thing taken care of and have something new, but I wont be able to play with it for a while. it only charges thru a computer (without buying new stuff I don't have money for and wont bother with) and this crappy PC doens't have functioning USB ports. I am, however, paitent and now believe in the mac fairy. Linda took me to get greek food.
saturday:
I had lunch with Kaveh and Linda before she said goodbye. I then enjoyed my first two hours alone in the house for days. it would have been so lovely and quite if it weren't for the construction in my yard.
I put off going to the doctor, and started soaking and gently stretching my leg and knee. I can't come close to standing striagh, I lose at least an inch on my left side, standing tall. I can bend to a 90 degree angle. Bill at work seems to think that is enough for me to start skankin'. I've been focusing a lot on not limping and standing as tall as I can. Sue asked me if I wanted to stay late to help her with cheese and I went for it. today was the first day I closed in three weeks. there was a lot I could do, and Sue helped me a lot, but it was really hard on my back and right foot from overcompensating. I pulled a full shift today, and I have all full shifts next week. hopefully I'll be able to do something other than register.
oh, it's saturday night! I'm going to drink a beer and go to sleep.
